For all those frowns that come with rejections when you query, there is one thing that actually makes me smile.
This: ">" along the left hand margin of my original query. Like this:

(I hope you can see those little boogers. Blogger keeps doing something weird with my formatting! Ack! Well, if you can't, those little boogers are the right arrow keys)
No, I haven't lost my mind. These little key strokes make me smile everytime I get a rejection email with them in it.
WHY????
Well, take a guess. Don't worry. I'll wait.

Because these little guys mean one thing, your query has been FORWARDED!
That's right! If the agent has interns going through the slush pile, these little marks mean that the query made it PAST the intern (which means the query/pages have to be decent, right?) and were sent to the agent.
I do cartwheel for that small victory--everytime I see it. Reaching small mountains makes me smile.
What about you? Anything that makes you smile while querying? I know, that's a toughie.
Oh, and if you haven't already checked out DL's 600 follower contest, Whodunit. Do that here.

Right. I mean follow!
That's right! Keep on the sunny side!
THAT'S what those arrows mean??
Where is it, exactly, you keep learning all these random things? You should write a book titled Things You Never Knew You Never Knew.

I did not know that! Thanks!
Way to take pleasure in the little things!
That's pretty cool. Thanks for the info. Have a great day. :)
JD is always here for those bits of useful information. :-) I LOVE Tracy's idea of writing a book! Perfect!
And now all of you have some to look forward to in your emails. Hopefully you'll find some of those arrows, too!

I never really thought out that. You're so smart! :) Good luck with your querying!
Now I'm going to have to read through my rejections to see if any > are there.
