Well, peeps ... while I was out on hiatus, I did it. I had my tonsils removed. And what can I say? Besides:
Holy $%*(^&# *@( *)@)$($(%&*#&@ )@($*%)(*$%$%& (@*@&@(%$*%&@!_!! ! ! ! !
Hmm ... yeah. It was bad.
Real bad.
I think I would have felt better if something like this would have happened:
Or heck, maybe even this:
You think I'm joking, don't you? Well! I'm not.
It was by FAR the WORST experience of my adult life!
I was off work for TWO WEEKS! And I spent an entire 10 day period in a drug-induced, pain-filled blur. It was ... sheesh ... there are no words, really. Really.
And did you know that when you have your tonsils taken out, that the first three days aren't the worst?
NOPE!
Days 4-10 are the most painful, painful days in all of existence. According to the doctor, it's when the tissue in your throat is "healing", which causes extreme pain. I mean you can't talk, swallow, spit, eat, drink, sleep, blink, cry, without wanting to die from the pain.
Seriously.
I actually had to go into the doctor's office on recovery day 7 and get a shot for the inflammation because they were afraid I was getting dehydrated because I wasn't drinking. Heck, I wasn't doing anything! Let ALONE drinking.
And you know what was the worst? (another worst, I mean ... lol)
Instead of loosing weight (from not being able to eat and all), I actually GAINED 7 freakin' pounds!!
What kind of cruel joke is that???
Seriously.
Whew. I'm just glad to say it's over. The pain has finally subsided to mild ache (yes ... it still hurts almost three weeks later), but at least it's only an ache and not the feeling of little gremlins playing out some horror movie with sharp tools with the back of my throat.
Thank goodness I only had to do that once. I wouldn't recommend it.
